2007Since when is advertising an “art form”?
Imaginasium is pleased and honored to be participating in an unusual art exhibit, Creative Output. Running from October 18 through November 9, 2007, this display features the art that goes into creating materials that help sell the products and services of local and national businesses. A retrospective of Imaginasium’s creative achievements during its 15 years in existence, this exhibit is a chance to glimpse an entire body of work at one time. In addition to materials created at Imaginasium, visitors will also see work from two other local advertising firms. So who has the guts (or should it be gall?) to display advertising in the sanctity of an art gallery? St. Norbert College in De Pere (just down the Fox River from our Green Bay headquarters) is running the exhibit to give visitors an idea of the strategic and creative thinking that goes into advertising and business communications, an industry some don’t typically see as high art. You’ll find Creative Output in the Baer Gallery of the Bush Art Center on the St. Norbert campus, 100 Grant Street, De Pere, WI. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., when classes are in session. For questions, call the gallery at 920-403-3370. |
